Oops, I Did it Again!

Oh my, friends. I have gone and started way too many projects at once.

During cold and flu season.

Right before the holidays.

With a one and four-year-old in the house!

What was I thinking?!

I wasn’t. I was all hopped up on Fixer Upper reruns I watched while I was couch-bound with the flu. Blinded by early-onset cabin fever. Driven to the point of madness by the tile floors that were (yes, were) the color of naked Barbies.

Here are the projects I have happening right now:

Remodeling the guest bathroom: The original project that had babies. Lots of babies.

  • Installed shiplap around the bottom of the room
  • Painted the shiplap white
  • Installed a groutable vinyl tile floor over the existing naked Barbie floor
  • Grouted the bathroom floor
  • Customized a chandelier for the room
  • Getting ready to tile a feature wall with gray glass arabesque tile
  • Installing a new vanity and the chandelier

Kitchen: Because, you know, I had to make things as complicated as possible…

  • Installed the groutable vinyl floor in the kitchen and hallways outside of the guest bath
  • Still need to grout the floor
  • Painting the trim and doors Pure White from Sherwin Williams

The “Situation Upstairs: Travis got a new job and will be working from home as of December 1st. This was sort of a curve ball I wasn’t anticipating but I’m grateful and up for the challenge. We have to make an office for him so we’ll be moving the kids to a shared-room and turning Eli’s bedroom into an office. This all has to happen during the month of November.

  • Sorting and doing a MAJOR purge of the kids’ stuff. Need any kids stuff?
  • Painting a feature wall in the kids’ shared room and installing a new light. Here’s my design plan for this space:

  • Adding a bunk bed to the room so Ada will have a getaway space from her little (busy) brother
  • Figuring out toy storage. This isn’t my thing BTW. Organizing+Me=Not Friends. I’d like to be but we just don’t mesh.
  • Finding office furniture for Travis

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy.
Don’t let me start anymore projects, okay?Anyone want to come have a painting party?!?! Or bring me coffee?
