For the last three weeks, I’ve been busy giving our builder-basic front porch a Southern-style makeover complete with haint blue ceiling, swings, vintage metal chairs and a sweet, vintage dog planter we’ve nicknamed Hank. I was so excited to get the opportunity to work with Theresa Marx of Metal Art Designz to transform one of my favorite Shel Silverstein poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends into the perfect outdoor wall art to greet our guests. Here’s how we dressed up our plain, siding wall with her whimsical design:
I have included affiliate links for your convenience. What does this mean? If you decide to buy, I will earn a small commission off your purchase at no cost to you. That income helps me keep this blog up and running. If you’d like to learn more, here’s my full disclosure.
Theresa’s designs are cut from 14 gauge steel and powdercoated so you don’t have to worry about it rusting outdoors. She has made a listing for this piece, featuring the Shel Silverstein poem, in her Etsy shop so you can invite the dreamers in, too.
To mount the sign, we used these simple vinyl siding clips that slide into the seam of your siding. This saves you the hassle of drilling and potentially damaging the siding, which could be an expensive issue to fix. We snapped these into place and had Theresa’s sign hanging in no time!
This week, I’ll be sharing the full reveal of my front porch makeover featuring estate sale finds at the Everything But the House blog but here’s a little peek. These swings. Oh man, am I loving these swings.
What outdoor projects are you working on this week, friends?
